Double Eagle Gold Coin
The legendary Double Eagle Gold Coin was introduced to the world in 1849. The Liberty Head $20 Double Eagle Gold Coin, the first of the series, was the first placed into circulation. This coin remained in production until 1907, when the Saint-Gaudens Coin replaced it. Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle ran from 1907 to 1933 at which time the Double Eagle series was complete. Saint Gaudens came in three basic varieties, the Saint-Gaudens MCMVII Ultra High Relief Double Eagle (1907), the Saint-Gaudens MCMVII High Relief Double Eagle (1907), and the Saint-Gaudens $20 Double Eagle (1907 to 1933).
